that helps, but my pain is not on the bottom of my foot. It is my back heel and the pain shoots up the back of my ankle. It burns and pulls. My doctor told me it was bursitis. I have had a cortisone shot, no help, bought new shoes he suggested, no help, have now a cast on my foot, still no help. Anytime I am on my feet it hurts. Tomorrow I am having a bone scan done. I have also had a x-ray done, and blood work to see if I have arthritis. You tell me. I hope all these things being done are not a waste of time.
Thanks

I have chronic foot pain all over my feet. I have heel pain, sides and tops of feet pain, ankle pain, toe pain, ball of foot pain. I read the descriptions of different foot conditions but I never see any syndrome listed that includes multiple conditions in both feet on a chronic basis. Can anyone direct me? Thanks.

I totally healed a plantar fasciitis problem by wearing Birkenstocks or other similar shoes with a sunken heel. -- my chiro recommended a shoe insert, but that was not nearly as comfortable.

My friend who plays a lot of tennis cured his the same way, also adding alternative hot and cold applications to the area.

However, my mother has a spur on the BACK of her heel. I wonder what will help that.
One site says sodium will break down the calcium deposit; another says take more calcium. another is selling some unnamed and expensive mineral combination without displaying ingredients.

So if fixing my plantar/bottom of the heel problem was easy (and I was very crippled by it before I changed shoes), then surely there's a real alternative treatment for the ones on the back of the heel.

I used to race Mt. Bikes for years and I could hardly walk the next morning after a long ride. It helped me a lot to take a cold can of Coke and roll it on the instep of my feet.

When I was 16yrs I had bunions removed from both of my feet it was the worst mistake of my life!! the long scar left on both feet are horrible. No doctor even recommended using pads on my bunions and telling me bunion surgery should be my last resort. From my experience I don't trust to let any doctor operate on my for anything! when I got orthotics later in my 20's I met a doctor that worked in the same place i purchased the orthotics he said all the doctor had to do was make a small incision along my bunion not make a deep long scar along my foot that played with nerves in my foot
